WordCamp Philly Is Looking for a Few Good Volunteers

Volunteering at a WordCamp Philly is a great way to meet new people and get more involved with the local WordPress community! We couldn’t run WordCamp Philly without the help of volunteers.

We’re taking applications for volunteers for this year’s event through Thursday, September 5. Newcomers are always welcome. You don’t need to be an expert at WordPress to help make WordCamp a success.

What Do Volunteers Do?

Every volunteer has different talents. Maybe you want to greet people at registration, or operate the video camera to record speaker sessions, or manage the room for a session, or help attendees troubleshoot WordPress issues at the Happiness Bar.  You can be certain there is a volunteer role that could use your help!

These are a few things our volunteers do.

  • They arrive early to help set up before WordCamp Philly begins.
  • They run the registration table, welcoming attendees as they arrive.
  • They distribute swag to attendees.
  • They serve as room managers and runners, helping keep the speaker tracks on schedule.
  • They assist attendees at the Happiness Bar, providing tech support.
  • They answer questions and provide directions as hallway monitors.
  • They help break down after WordCamp Philly ends.

Things to Know

  1. The application period will continue through 11:59 p.m. September 5.
  2. We plan to select our list of volunteers by September 10.
  3. Because we’re in a new venue, our setup will be a little different, and we may need a few extra volunteers. Please share this post with all of your friends!
